I. Job Purpose and Job Duties
KARL STORZ is currently seeking a Field Service Specialist to join the Protection1 Field Service team covering Maine.
Reporting to the Manager of Field Service Protection1, this role is primarily responsible for the management of KARL STORZ devices within a territory including, influencing competitor trades.
Client sites for this role include hospitals and surgery centers which perform endoscopic surgeries where preventative maintenance, purchasing new instruments, manpower, and over-use of disposable instruments are issues.
II. Job Duties
Sell, perform, and collect purchase orders for onsite repairs of KARL STORZ equipment inside hospitals and other clinical settings.
Sell, facilitate, and collect purchase orders for offsite repairs & exchanges of KARL STORZ equipment inside hospitals and other clinical settings.
Sell, perform, and collect purchase orders for product inspection (aka preventive maintenance) of KARL STORZ equipment inside hospitals and other clinical settings.
Provide Product Demonstrations, Care & Handling, Service & Repair Education, and Training of KARL STORZ Products to customers.
Provide onsite troubleshooting, installation, system & software upgrades of KARL STORZ equipment inside hospitals and other clinical settings which may require the collection of purchase order.
With a team approach, co-manages the sales of service offering of KARL STORZ products and the sales of new KARL STORZ instruments to all accounts within a geographical territory, which requires daily driving to geographically dispersed accounts. Must reside within 30 miles of the territory, if not within. Will occasionally require overnight travel (up to 10% of the time.)
Identify process improvement opportunities and suggest workflows to keep repairs and replacement expenses within the contract’s predetermined budget for the account.
Participation in Territory quarterly business reviews, which includes but is not limited to providing preventive maintenance evaluation reports, transactional and contracted service history, and in-servicing details.
Must follow KARL STORZ policies and procedures regarding documentation, and evaluation, selling & repair/exchange practices.
Conduct onsite evaluation of cleaning, sterilization, and care and handling of KARL STORZ equipment throughout the product journey to identify process improvements. Under management supervision, prepare customer reports.
Assistance in KARL STORZ trials, inclusive of case coverage and other OR support activities.
II. Minimum Knowledge, Education, and Skill Requirements
Required
Minimum years of relevant work experience:
5-8 years’ experience in Sterile Processing, Sales, or other Surgical Technology/Medical role
Experience in inventory management practices to maintain and account for parts and replacement inventory.
A proficiency in knowledge regarding the functionality, use case, and technical specifications of KARL STORZ equipment documentation to effectively inspect or repair products
Minimum education, certifications, and/or credentials:
High School Diploma Required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
Must be CCSVP certified and maintain annual certification by the end of the second year in the role.
Must have a driver’s license, and the ability to drive and maintain a Company vehicle. Must have a good driving record and ability to be insured by Company policy.
Must meet customer-required credentialing requirements, which may include, periodic background checks and drug screening, immunizations, and training. Credentialing requirements vary by customer and may change from time to time.
Minimum hard skill requirements (including computer and application proficiency):
Must have experience in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Must have good manual dexterity and ability to work with tools necessary to evaluate the functionality of intricate KARL STORZ equipment
Must possess basic mathematical skills, and the ability to read, comprehend, interpret, analyze, and apply technical information including but not limited to technical manuals, technical bulletins, schematics, etc.
Have experience working independently and multi-tasking to meet project deadlines & sales quotas.

Salary : $54,000 - $85,850
