What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Member position at Karma Boba?
So you want to work for a Bubble Tea Shop…
What working at Karma Boba is like:
Here at Karma Boba our team is dedicated to making and crafting the best possible bubble tea experience for our guests. We treat everyone who walks through our doors with genuine hospitality as if they were visitors in your own home. That is why we refer to them as guests and not “customers”. This includes team members, vendors, young/old, everybody!
How do we create the best possible Bubble Tea Experience? You might be asking.
Well, we do this by coming in every day with The Karma Boba Mindset. The Karma Boba Mindset is all about living the experience and setting the standard of the “golden rule” for ourselves. This can be basic things like coming in on time and getting our work done. But it involves so much more. Such as greeting everyone with a warm friendly smile, getting to know people and having a memorable experience with them. This can be putting a smiley face on their cup, remembering their names and orders, sharing a work appropriate joke, asking someone how their day is going, and/or doing the many other things that make us and our guests happy.
Sounds pretty good so far right?!
So what is the catch? You are probably thinking.
Well, we are still a business. So we do still have rules, standards, and practices that we use to make our business better. This can include uniform requirements, standardized recipes, checklists and order requests, etc.
I know this seems like all the boring stuff. But we as a company and team try to make the best of these opportunities by having some unique strategies that no other boba shop employs. Such as having small events for our team, listening to music (that is not offensive or disruptive during prep time), letting our staff take part in creating new recipes/ideas for the shop, employee discounts/incentives, and many other fun things.
