Electrical Technician
The primary responsibility for the Electrical Technician is for the identification of root causing failures of all vehicle systems and components as well as the fabrication of wire harnesses and connectors that will be used in the vehicle, team, or manufacturing. This position plays an integral role with the Engineering Development team throughout product development and through launch.
Responsibilities (included, but are not limited to):
- Perform fabrication, cutting, bending, and assembling
- Conduct Test Plans with Engineering
- Support all technical requirements from Engineering
- Inspect and test vehicles to determine necessary repairs to the fleet
- Root cause failures of on vehicle
- Support the development of countermeasures
- Support the development of R&D and production wire harnesses and fixtures
- Repair systems to the original specification
- Communicate acquired service and technical knowledge to the service team
- Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, steering, suspension, brakes and air conditioning to required specifications
- Maintain fleet inventory and document repair and services performed
- Work from detailed manufacturing documentation and/or verbal and written instructions to perform repairs and reconfigure vehicles
- Support the development and execution of Test Plans
- Test and analyze vehicle level systems
- Root cause failures of vehicle systems;
- Identify and communicate new failure modes
- Develop new service instructions
- Update and maintain electronic and written records concisely and accurately. Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
- 4 years of experience in automotive
- ASE Masters certification
- Strong fabrication and wiring equipment knowledge (wire harnesses and connectors)
- Valid US driver’s license; Some travel may be required
- Broad knowledge of all vehicle systems (including powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, & interiors) & relative components, component materials & fasteners
- Practical knowledge of vehicle networks (including CAN, LIN, and FlexRay) & relative systems such as OBD II
- Ability to debug failures to component level
- Ability to diagnose with OBD II diagnostics systems and data acquisition tools
- Proficient with Electronic Test and Measurement Equipment, hand and power tools
- Proficient with manufacturing instructions, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), as applicable

Compensation:
$31.25/per hour - $39.00/per hour. Compensation will vary DOE.
At Karma, our base pay is one part of our total rewards package.
Compensation offered may vary on multiple factors, including market location, education, skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position being offered.
