Certified Dental Assistant

We are seeking a Dental Assistant to provide clinical support to our practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be detail oriented, and able to work well under pressure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet patients when they sign in and monitor arrival time
- Set up treatment rooms for procedures
- Show care and concern, and help patients feel comfortable
- Obtain and review health histories according to office protocol
- Ensure patients are always attended
- Anticipate and assist dentist’s needs
- Mix dental materials and explain procedure to patient using proper terminology
- Ensure patients’ questions are answered thoroughly before they leave
- Chart patients and record date, service rendered and any charges
- Ensure proper treatment notes are recorded in patient’s chart
- Perform clinical procedures as practice act allows
- Give patient instruction and demonstrate when necessary
- Treatment Coordinator in addition to call the patient in the evening after a difficult appointment
- Assist in preparing for oral sedation and hospital care
- Ensure that ALL post op and pre op information are provided.
- Ensure that the Doctor reviews consents and that consents are signed and dated
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Certified Dental Assiant with vaild Certificate for State of Maine
- Must have reliable transportaion
- 1-2 years' expireanece in a Dental Practice preferred (not required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
