IT Application Support Specialist

The Application Support Specialist is the primary coordinator and technical expert for in-house end-user application: including EMR, Office 365, and phone system. The IT Application Support Specialist will render outstanding customer service in a timely and capable manner which in turn mitigates end-user frustration as well as allows individuals to work as efficiently as possible. This position works with minimal supervision and must be proactive in diagnosing problems and capable of formulating and implementing fixes so that worker downtime can be marginalized. All instances of support will be tracked by the IT Application Support Specialist thru a ticketing system where status updates are recorded up to and including complete and final resolution of respective issues. Lastly, this position will work closely with the CIO regarding application upgrade needs, purchasing and life cycle planning to ensure proper equipment is secured and in place while also optimizing cost efficiency. Other duties may be assigned to support operational efficiency.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Minimum of one year working in a technical operating capacity with previous experience working on help desk tickets and desktop support.
• Some level of formal training preferred, including certification and/or coursework in computer hardware, security, configuration, and technical support.
• Experience in healthcare-related environment preferred.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Ability to attend to multiple tasks at the same time and to prioritize assignments and responsibilities to ensure compliance with established deadlines and protocols.
• Willingness to work occasional and infrequent hours outside of normal Mon-Fri 8-5 in instances of critical issues. Some overtime may be required but is not expected to be frequent nor extensive.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English. Must be able to see, hear, read, write, kneel, stand, sit, and lift up to 35 lbs. without device assistance.

• Must always maintain patient confidentiality.
• Must demonstrate tact, patience, and good communication skills in dealing with patients, staff, and the public.
• Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed, proof of liability insurance on vehicle used is required.
