Job Posting for Service Department Manager at Kauai Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Inc.
Established family owned and operated full scale Mechanical Contractor has an opening to serve our well established customer base. We are currently looking for a Department Manager to oversee the Sales, Operations, and Project Close Out of our Service Department. Pay is negotiable.
Job Functions
The primary function for your position is to oversee the daily operations of an effective service team while striving to grow the department through improving margins, increasing revenue, and delivering on customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Develop and track departmental KPI’s that support overall team growth, safety, quality, and profitability.
Lead the effort within the department to improve productivity, consistency, and quality.
Manage customer relationships and drive issue resolution.
Manage team budget and overhead accounts.
Maintain optimum team staffing levels through labor forecasting, planning, and management.
Overall responsibility for departmental recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining team staff.
Inspect job-sites on a regular basis to ensure customer satisfaction, workmanship, overall quality assurance, and safety.
Follow-up on any required warranty work and maintain contact with owner to ensure customer satisfaction.
Manage departmental dispatching schedule, job quoting, and customer invoicing.
Communicate clear performance expectations and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
Approve departmental time sheets and perform all other necessary management tasks related to people management.
Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.
Active role in identifying and actively pursuing additional opportunities while developing long term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Any additional duties/responsibilities deemed necessary by Kauai Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

Job Qualifications
High school Diploma or equivalent required.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Ability to work under constraints and to make the most out of allotted resources.
Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.
Attention to detail and completing work to a deadline.
Able to participate in customer relation issues and find solutions to solve customer disputes.
Understands the necessity of maximizing the productivity of the construction and technical workforce.
Understand the importance of handling sensitive and confidential information and documents.
General knowledge of HVAC/R is a plus.
Good communication skills.
Good computer skills, (i.e., MS Word, Excel, and Project).
