GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for overseeing the staff and the day-to-day operations of the day care facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children.
- Administrative duties including processing enrollments, keeping attendance and health and safety records, ordering supplies and keeping billing records. Also responsible for keeping all students' files up to date, including medical and emergency contact information, and records of any behavioral incidents.
- Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development.
- Interview, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements.
- Develop educational programs and standards and ensure academic excellence.
- Establish and communicate employee policies.
- Effective and positive communication with staff, parents and children.
- Develop budgets and allocate center funds.
- Manage facilities.
- Develop and facilitate a marketing and communications plan.
- Responsible for ensuring the Day Care is in full compliance with all licensing and safety regulations.
- Evaluate and purchase materials, equipment and supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
- High School Graduate or GED, 12 core semester units in early childhood education/development-3 semester units related to infant care, 3 semester units in Administration or Staff Relations,
4 years teaching experience in a supervised group child care center with children under five years of age.
- AA degree in child development, 3 units Administration, and 2 years teaching experience.
- BA degree in child development, 3 units Administration and 1 year teaching experience.
- Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
