About the Job:

We're searching for a biology tutor to work with our high school students in person at our learning center in Minnetonka as well as via Zoom.

Your Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-person, one-on-one tutoring sessions for high school students at our learning center and over Zoom.
• Match high-achieving students’ depth of knowledge while helping them perfect their grades in rigorous honors and AP courses
• Tailor tutoring lessons to student learning goals for their academic courses.
• Prepare students for the AP Biology exam, which is in May.
• Effectively communicate progress to parents through emails and session reports.
• Correspond with administrators and other tutors as needed.

Your Work Experience:

• At least 1 year of tutoring and/or teaching biology.

Your Skillset:

• Helping students with class assignments and studying for exams
• Implementing AP test prep curriculum
• Navigating various online classroom platforms
• Building rapport with teenagers and families
• Expressing yourself clearly in written and oral format
• Differentiating instruction based on student learning needs
• English language fluency

Your Education:

• At least a bachelor's degree in biology or related field
• Preferred: degree in secondary education
• Preferred: current secondary education teaching license and/or secondary education certification

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 5 per week
