About the Job:
We're searching for a biology tutor to work with our high school students in person at our learning center in Minnetonka as well as via Zoom.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person, one-on-one tutoring sessions for high school students at our learning center and over Zoom.
- Match high-achieving students’ depth of knowledge while helping them perfect their grades in rigorous honors and AP courses
- Tailor tutoring lessons to student learning goals for their academic courses.
- Prepare students for the AP Biology exam, which is in May.
- Effectively communicate progress to parents through emails and session reports.
- Correspond with administrators and other tutors as needed.
Your Work Experience:
- At least 1 year of tutoring and/or teaching biology.
Your Skillset:
- Helping students with class assignments and studying for exams
- Implementing AP test prep curriculum
- Navigating various online classroom platforms
- Building rapport with teenagers and families
- Expressing yourself clearly in written and oral format
- Differentiating instruction based on student learning needs
- English language fluency
Your Education:
- At least a bachelor's degree in biology or related field
- Preferred: degree in secondary education
- Preferred: current secondary education teaching license and/or secondary education certification
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 5 per week
