Title
Systems Engineer
This position will support mechanical analysis projects supporting aircraft weapon system programs. Specifically, the engineer will provide analyses, planning and draft documentation to address mechanical, electrical or avionics systems Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) requirements. The engineer will review aircraft maintenance data and perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Subsystem Hazard Analysis, engineering and configuration analysis, and develop engineering technical requirements for aircraft mechanical, electrical or avionics system components. The focus of effort will be primarily in support of the F-16 but could also include A-10 and T-38 projects.
Tasks include but are not limited to engineering evaluation, analysis, and recommended disposition of technical assistance requests for aircraft mechanical, electrical or avionics systems. The engineer may use SolidWorks or other CAD programs to create 3D models of aircraft mechanical, electrical or avionics components. The engineer will develop and manage large MS Excel spreadsheets, identify failure trends, and propose potential mitigating solutions. The engineer will write technical reports detailing analyses in MS Word as well as Adobe Pro. The engineer will interface directly with USAF customers to identify customer needs and ensure efforts meet customer expectations. Some travel to various USAF F-16 bases is expected.
This position may be tasked to support similar duties on various other USAF weapon systems.

Solve complex problems to meet team goals as well as interfacing with government and sub-contractor personnel in a team environment.
Derive, develop and manage requirements for solutions to meet the government customer needs.
Evaluate existing equipment and determine solutions to improve safety/reliability of the current airframe.
Research the cost-effectiveness of technologies, perform trade studies, and evaluate solutions to meet government customer needs.
Support the testing and qualification of solutions against customer requirements

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Institution.
Ability to write formal engineering reports and construct briefing materials using MS Office tools such as Word, Power Point and Excel.
Clearance Requirement: US Citizen with eligibility for a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
More Qualified Candidates Will Possess
Knowledge of U.S. Government, DoD, USAF and/or USN technology and system development processes and policies to include digital engineering, systems engineering, test & evaluation, and functional disciplines contributing to weapon system research and development
Military aviation systems experience
Ability to compile data from aircraft drawings and technical reports for future reliability analysis/design
Experience Working With ISO9100 Requirements
US Citizenship Required
