Title:

Senior Manager, Logistics

Responsible for the overall performance of key areas and staff to include Project Logistics Support, Property/Asset Management, Warehouse and Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHS&T) Management, Depot Level Maintenance, and Repair Lab services. The ideal candidate has experience establishing professional rapport and interacts with the customer on significant Satellite Control Network (SCN) and related logistics issues needing technical guidance. Manager serves as the primary customer interface to ensure customer satisfaction. Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ensures awareness and monitors employee compliance with all applicable company, policies, and procedures. Responsible for defining training requirements, developing employee skills, and promoting continuous improvement. Develops and implements performance standards and internal controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and monitors organization objectives, work plans, schedules, standard procedures, and metrics to ensure resources are available for completion of all Logistics organization tasks and assignments
  • Oversees the financial budget, quality performance, technical planning, and development for the program's overall Logistics effort meeting cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets
  • Collaborates/coordinates daily with customer representatives to guide related logistics tasks, strategies, problem solving, logistics management to enable the overall team to better respond to program logistics-related problems or issues
  • Collaborates with contractor counterparts from other program/systems associated with all SCN logistics support activities thru four subordinate functional teams
  • Leads the long-term Logistics planning process for the program and stimulates development and approves processes and solution alternatives for this part of the program team
  • Responsible for physical and functional aspects of Data Transport Product Support Sustainment Logistics Maintenance (DSLM) warehouse and repair labs
  • Monitors the quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transportation cost and efficiency
  • Ensures the warehouse is maintained in good order and that accurate inventory and related reporting are continually maintained
  • Conducts and provides minutes for quarterly program status reviews and monthly Logistic Technical Interchange Meetings
  • Ensures proper equipment tools and supplies are provided to all logistic areas
  • Provide logistics related content for program proposals
  • Oversees timecard authorization, collection and signing as well as travel authorizations and expense reports
  • Reviews performance against goals. Plans, approves, and implements actions for the timely development and progress of individuals

Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • A demonstrated ability to provide guidance and direction in relevant tasks to the logistics engineering and depot support program
  • A proven expertise in the management and control of funds and resources.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and manage staff
  • A demonstrated capability to manage multi-task contracts
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and human relations skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Experience in effective communication with external Government agencies
  • General knowledge with the SCN or other operation systems/networks
  • Firm grasp of Air Force Supply System, inventory, distribution, and inventory software. i.e., GOLD, Costpoint, or Maximo
  • Possess or capable of obtaining a DoD Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications.

  • MA/MS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of logistics experience including 5 years of management experience.
  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain or related discipline with a minimum of 15 years of logistics experience including 5 years of management experience

Salary Range: $140,000 - $165,000
