Who are we hiring?
The Kansas City Current is looking for a motivated and service-oriented Security Manager to oversee safety and security for the only women’s professional sports stadium in the world. Applicants should possess a courteous professional attitude and great work ethic in a very inclusive organization. The position will manage the full-time security staff during event and non-event days. The manager will also oversee contracted security and off-duty security during events. This is a Full-Time position that requires weekend and evening availability, so flexibility is a must.
What will you do?
- Involved in the interview and hiring procedures for qualified applicants.
- Creates, modifies and manages schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Follows all company policies regarding timekeeping procedures.
- Maintains regular proactive contact with security staff to ensure all staff is being effectively utilized and properly trained.
- Maintains high employee morale and low employee turnover through effective and proactive communications and timely problem resolution.
- Prepares and runs all required reports as directed by management, reviews such reports in a timely manner with management team, and takes appropriate action as necessary to address any report discrepancies or operational issues.
- Enforce CPKC Stadium policies and procedures as well as NWSL polices to promote safety.
- Collaborate with event staff and security personnel to maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents or emergencies, following established protocols.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines to deliver a high standard of service and security.
- Complete required testing of security and fire systems-related equipment as required by security procedures.
- Must be able to work long hours, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Understanding of and the proper use of the radio, video management, access control, and alarm systems
- Additional duties as assigned.
What do you need to succeed?
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Post-secondary education or training desirable.
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a KCMO Private Officers Commission License.
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of professional-level experience required, managing non-exempt employees. Prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, military and/or customer service highly desired. Experience in scheduling, operations and/or employee management in a service-related industry a significant plus;
- Ability to write effective and concise reports and document investigations and counseling sessions.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software is mandatory. Ability to learn and efficiently operate various in-house computer systems.
- Take initiative, successfully handle, and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines. Must demonstrate a high level of integrity, and apply rules, policies, and employment actions in a consistent, fair and equitable manner in all situations.
- Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required.
- Possess a professional attitude that is customer service oriented.
- Good judgment and detail oriented.
- Must have a valid state driver license.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and handle challenging individuals.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
- Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time sensitive matters with senior executives.
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift items weighing as much as 50 pounds.
- Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times.
- Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
- Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling.
- This position requires work inside and outside of the building and some exposure to adverse weather conditions.
- Work in various positions, including but not limited to, stooping, standing, walking, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.
