Job Summary
The Grant Development Specialist is part of the Institutional Advancement department and is responsible for procuring grants for the success of the College. The Grant Development Specialist will work closely with members of the Institutional Advancement department, the Southeast Education Foundation, and various committees to strategically fund SKCTC projects and goals. This position will be responsible for developing and submitting grant proposals, in addition to managing funded grant projects. The person chosen will have the opportunity to pursue professional development and certification in grant writing. This position serves all five campuses, Cumberland, Harlan, Knox, Middlesboro, Pineville, and Whitesburg. The person chosen for this position will work with SKCTC to select a home campus for daily work and will travel regularly to other campuses. Partial remote work may be possible.
Job Duties:
- Research external funding possibilities for strategic priorities.
- Lead committees of colleagues and partners to develop grant projects and proposals
- Write grant proposals in response to funding opportunities.
- Take initiative to develop and implement strong action plans
- Maintain proficient knowledge of the College’s history, mission, and programs.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders and serve as liaison between college and
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and funder regulations.
- Provide grant administration, management, and technical assistance including budgeting.
- Manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outcomes.
- Report on projects to funders
- Maintain a strong working relationship with the System Office staff, college staff, and
has sponsored projects, contracts, and subcontracts.
- Provide individual and college-wide training sessions and assistance on how to organize
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with program assessment and evaluation.
- 4 years experience with grant writing and management preferred.
- Preference to those with project management certification
