Scope:
This position will be responsible for supporting the safety department with the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Monitors environmental compliance issues and provides consultation to the appropriate departments and/or leadership regarding environmental risks and/or hazards.
Oversees and/or performs environmental monitoring for facility discharges, storm water management and other environmental related permits.
Oversees and/or performs routine industrial and hazardous waste management activities such as waste inventories, vendor scheduling and waste haul oversight, and manifest tracking and filing.
Conducts investigations and root cause analysis, and communicates findings to the appropriate departments and/or leadership.
Develops and implements corrective/preventative actions that improve the safety and environmental conditions of the facility.
Assists in job hazard and environmental assessments, and participates in the development and implementation of improved processes and procedures.
Maintains current knowledge of industry and regulatory laws, guidelines, and practices. Communicates and initiates improvements resulting from changing regulations.
Conducts environmental audits, and participates in health & safety audits, including the development of and drafting of audit documentation, tracking corrective actions, and monitoring of trends.
Maintains EHS files and records. Modifies and implements compliance tracking programs and recordkeeping systems.
Initiates all required permitting, reporting and/or documentation in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
Assists in the development of technical documents including EHS procedures, programs, job aides and training documents.
Develops and conducts training on environmental and safety programs, policies and procedures.
Supports the EHS manager in responding to emergency situations during or after hours.
Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
High School Graduate/GED equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in environmental, health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
AAS in Environmental Technology or related field, preferred.
RCRA and Hazardous Waste Management Certification.
OSHA 10 hour or 30 hour Certification.
40 Hour HAZWOPER.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older.
Able to work overtime & weekends as required.
Wear hairnet, safety glasses, long pants, steel toe shoes/boots and any other uniform standards.Read, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.Ability sit, bend, stoop, climb, and stand for long periods of time in one place.
