Position Summary:
Lead and support the development, design, implementation and project management of Aerosol and Liquid Packaging projects to include customer requested changes, new packaging designs, material conversion / cost reductions, packaging equipment procurement and Quality and Regulatory compliance
Essential Functions:
· Identify, assess, and implement new packaging opportunities/projects through frequent interaction with our plant leadership team, our customers and outside material suppliers utilizing your personal expertise, the continuous improvement culture and RIE (Rapid Improvement Event) processes.
· Interface with equipment and packaging component suppliers to ensure that the technical needs of the manufacturing facilities capabilities are being met on a consistent basis. Align cost saving projects with manufacturing capabilities to achieve plant and Operational Excellence goals.
· Provide primary support and expertise in Aerosol packaging space including cans, caps, valves, actuator and corrugated packaging.
· Provide primary support and expertise in Liquid packaging space including plastic bottles, caps, trigger sprayers, labels, induction-sealed closures and corrugated packaging.
· Provide support for secondary components including for example: folding cartons, corrugated shippers.
· Author/Review Packaging Engineering required protocols and reports for various engineering studies (equivalency studies, distribution challenge testing, etc.)
· Assist plant personnel for the specification, acceptance and validation of all new products and packaging equipment.
· Support/lead R&D efforts in defining packaging materials for new products.
· Draft specifications/drawings for various primary and secondary packaging components, when required.
· Work with Value Streams to implement world class methods and standards across the business unit.
· Provide leadership/ technical expertise and project support to all value streams, as requested.
· Project management of capital projects for infrastructure and production projects.
· Mentor and provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers for assigned project work.
· Regular attendance per handbook policy.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

· Able to lift 55 pounds occasionally, 25 - 50lbs. consistently.

Education / Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in engineering preferred
· 5 to 8 years of Packaging project experience in the Aerosol, Liquid or other related packaging Industry space.
Experience:
· Experience reading blueprints and schematics are required.
· Requires a broad working knowledge of various skilled trades including machinist, welder, electrician, and maintenance mechanic.
· Extensive knowledge of various building and fire codes as well as the National Electric Code, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
Additional Qualifications:
· Experience with automated high speed packaging equipment, robotics, packaging materials and components, performance evaluations, conducting distribution challenge testing and CAD drawing experience.
· Familiar with basic Packaging Engineering designs, test methods, including interpreting the data generated during the testing and the ability to draw conclusions from the data, recommend package design changes that might resolve deficiencies in the original package design
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good analytical skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Salary : $79,900 - $101,000
