What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Designer position at KDS Windsor?

Requirements:

· Experienced mechanical designer with 3D modelling background

· Experience in structural steel fabrication and or heavy industrial manufacturing

· Experience reading and creating erection drawing sets

· Autodesk Inventor experience preferred

· Vault Pro experience preferred

· Experience in Microsoft Office

· Bachelor’s of Science in engineering preferred

CAD Responsibilities to Include:

· Structural Steel detailing: Responsible for the accurate and on time production of 3D Models, Dwg files, & BOMs for Structural Steel Components, Sub-Assemblies & Assemblies for Steel Fabrication shop

· Heavy Industrial Manufacturing Detailing: Responsible for the accurate and on time production of 3D Models, Dwg files, & BOMs for the Manufacturing Facility

· Light Manufacturing Detailing: Responsible for the accurate and on time production of 3D Models, Dwg files, & BOMs for the Manufacturing Facility

· Structural / Architectural / MEP Detailing: Responsible for the accurate and on time production of 3D Models, Dwg files, & BOMs (QTY take off / shippable parts lists associated with erection drawing sets

Document Management Responsibilities to Include:

· Maintain CAD & BOM documents within the Vault environment, managing and adhering to the Product Lifecycle process, release, revision, and change order processes process, while maintaining the integrity of the Vault System

Interdepartmental / Field Responsibilities to Include:

· Support purchasing with up-to-date and accurate BOMs & print set releases on all projects

· Support the plant with up-to-date and accurate print set & BOM releases to manufacturing

· Generate engineering change orders based upon engineering, plant, and field feedback

· Work with manufacturing and field personnel to develop technically sound, efficient, practical, and cost-effective solutions to manufacturing and construction issues

· Support construction superintendents and field supervisor’s efforts as required

· Support sales and marketing efforts as required

· Customer support, limited trouble shooting, parts orders

· All other duties as assigned

Engineering Responsibilities to Include:

· Work with engineering team to maintain program schedules

· Work with engineering team to determine individual project model, dwg, and print requirements

· Work with engineering team to develop practical efficient and visually pleasing burner and Kiln designs

· Support R & D efforts through creation, revision, and tweaking of models required for digital prototyping

· Alert engineering team in a timely manner of any deviations from program schedule, issues or problems that might affect program schedules.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Education:

  • Associate (Required)

Experience:

  • CAD Design: 10 years (Required)
  • Autodesk Inventor: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Vault Pro: 2 years (Preferred)
