What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Consultant position at Kearney & Company?
Kearney is currently seeking an IT Consultant to join our team! The IT Consultant position is responsible for delivering quality services and work products on their engagement. The IT Consultant will report to the IT Senior Manager and will perform the following additional responsibilities:
- Demonstrate professionalism and competence in the client's environment
- Understand business operations, processes, and functions unique to the client
- Apply information technology and audit concepts to the client's mission
- Work in a team environment with clients, Kearney team members, and other contractors
- Balance tasks concurrently and meet strict deadlines
- Provide financial statement audit and management internal controls assessment support related to IT general controls (ITGC) throughout the audit/assessment lifecycle, e.g., planning, stakeholder management, PBC list management, PBC coordination, artifact QC and submission to the auditors, observation and NFR review and feedback, final report review and feedback, CAP coordination, and remediation guidance and oversight
- Review audit reports, notice of findings and corrective action plans, and provide guidance and recommendations to the client
- Perform quality control reviews and assist in the submission of supporting documentation for internal and external audits
- Coordinate and hold meetings with key personnel and provide best practices
- Review and evaluate IT internal controls and supporting documentation
- Review system design and process documentation for compliance with policies and laws/regulations and provide recommendations for improvement
- Develop white papers and guidance material to improve business processes
- Prepare advanced Excel formulas, charts, and pivot tables and analyze large datasets
- Ensure project deliverable compliance and quality
- Be a self-starter, self-motivated, and results-oriented
- Provide support to other components within DHS and assist in the submission of audit requests
- Effectively communicate and present findings to the client in writing and orally
- Review work performed by other associates or team members
- Support firm-wide initiatives
Qualifications
- BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university in a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of auditing, information technology, internal controls, and/or equivalent experience
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of GAO Yellow Book, NIST SPs, GAGAS, and/or FISCAM
- Experience working with or auditing one or more of the following technologies: Microsoft Windows Server, Oracle databases, Oracle EBS, and cloud infrastructure
- Experience working on a financial statement audit, FISMA, OMB Circular A-123 Appendix A and/or SOC engagement
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)
Preferred:
- CISA, CISSP, and/or CPA
- Experience working with Federal Government and/or DoD clients
