As a Facility Engineer, you will oversee the design, operation, and maintenance of our facility’s infrastructure and systems. This role involves managing facility projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations, and implementing efficiency improvements. You will work closely with facility managers, technicians, and external contractors to ensure the smooth functioning and enhancement of the physical plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the facility's infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal performance and longevity of facility systems.
- Plan, design, and oversee facility improvement projects, including renovations and system upgrades.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project goals are met within budget and timeline.
- Work with contractors and other departments to support facility projects and operational needs.
- Maintain facilities and equipment to be safe and up to code. Adhere to safety guidelines and mentor safe work practices.
- Ensure that all facility operations and projects comply with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Analyze facility operations and performance to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of facility systems, maintenance activities, and project developments.
- Prepare reports and presentations on facility performance, project status, and compliance for management review.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years in facility and equipment maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general construction.
- Proficient with tools and equipment; strong problem-solving abilities; capable of interpreting technical specifications.
- Understanding of OSHA guidelines, trade standards, and building codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex facility issues.
Driving Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 with 2-4 years of driving experience.
- A valid Illinois driver’s license is required; a CDL license is preferred.
- A clean driving record and knowledge of USDOT and FMSCA requirements are helpful.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 40 lbs. regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Comfortable with varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to safety.
- Capability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks that require manual dexterity and mobility.
