What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation CAD Designer/Technician position at Keller Associates?

An experienced Transportation CAD Designer is needed to team up with our engineers to prepare routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams for a variety of bridge and transportation improvement projects. Candidates must have solid understanding of drafting techniques and good familiarity with engineering terminology.
Responsibilities include:
- Design of state and municipal transportation projects
- Draft and assemble construction drawings with a focus on roadways, hydrology, and grading
- Prepare documents using MicroStation/OpenRoads
- Conform to appropriate Client CAD standards
- Familiar with Oregon and/or Idaho Transportation department standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates degree in computer aided drafting field with 2 years in civil engineering field or, 5 years experience in transportation engineering design
- Proficient in Microstation/Openroads required
- Experience with other software is a plus (Civil 3D, GIS, Excel, Word etc.)
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Simple decision-making skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers to solve complex problems
