Pay: $24.00/hr.
Summary:
The main function of a Claims Representative is to manage and settle Claims by obtaining information from insured or designated persons.
Job Responsibilities:
Organize and work with detailed records, using computer to enter, access, search and retrieve data.
Prepare and review insurance claim forms and related documents for completeness.
Provide customer service, such as giving limited instructions on how to proceed with claims or providing referrals to other facilities or vendors.
Review claims to determine whether or not claimant is covered under a policy, review policy to determine coverage, and evaluate the extent of a settlement.
Authorize claim payments, set reserves on payments, ensure timely disbursement of funds, coordinate or conduct investigations on claims, identify claims with possible recovery from third parties, and consult with attorneys, doctors, and agents in regards to the disposition of complex claims.
Knowledge of state regulations for Workers Compensation.
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to make decisions in complex situations.
Need to have experience with Windows
Need experience with Outlook (need to be able to send out calendar invites and emails), Excel-workers will be expected to navigate the platform and review Excel documents),
Computer Data Entry and typing skills are needed for this role
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
1-3 years experience required in Workers Compensation.
