Responsibilities
- Enter, update, adjust, and analyze orders
- Assign orders to carriers
- Schedule orders for pickup
- Communicate with carriers and internal personnel (Sales, Warehouse, etc.)
- Filing freight claims and collections
- Freight payables (rates, validating stop off charges, pallets, fuel surcharge, other assessorial charges)
- Managing and arranging transfer loads between plants.
- Plus other departmental duties.
- Administrative and office procedures and/or analytical skills
- Experience with transportation preferred.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments, customers, and carrier suppliers.
- Computer knowledge including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Troubleshooting skills
- Ability to make decisions in an effective and timely manner.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent education
