Mon - Thurs: 7am-4pm & Fri: 7am-1pm
Job Description:
The Facilities and Safety Coordinator maintains facilities, oversees changes to manufacturing layouts, champions the safety of personnel and ensures that training and processes enforce compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
- Responsible for all maintenance and housekeeping functions.
- Perform or coordinate the maintenance and preventative maintenance of all aspects of buildings and grounds (Plumbing, HVAC, Lighting, Alarm systems, landscaping, etc.)
- Manage the implementation of new facility plans and facility design changes. Responsible for facility project plans, contractor coordination, facility layout including furniture, machine configuration and setup.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the company Safety Program at all facilities and overall training and knowledge of staff.
- Ensure First Responders (Safety Committee) are staffed and trained.
- Ensure risk mitigation as it relates to hazardous chemicals including obtaining and evaluating SDS's as well as ensuring proper storage and disposal methods.
- Ensures PPE requirements are understood, and materials are readily available.
- Perform Job Hazzard Analysis (JHA's) for new positions.
- Perform monthly area audits.
- Conduct monthly employee training on Safety, problem solving techniques, and root cause identification, and maintain applicable training records.
- Monitor and investigate all safety and maintenance concerns and work-related injuries and report to proper personnel and agencies.
- Identify operations related risks and effective mitigation measures, to eliminate risk. Promptly address and seek resolution to all safety and maintenance issues.
- Ensure safety and maintenance programs, policies and strategies are in compliance with all applicable building safety, laws, rules and regulations (i.e. OSHA, EPA and other such regulatory agencies).
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 3-5 years minimum experience with facilities maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and coordinate repairs, installations, etc. when required (landscaping, plumbing, HVAC, security, etc.)
- Experience in Engineering and/or Environmental/Health/Safety
- Ability to recognize safety and maintenance related hazardous situations and implement corrective measures
- Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce federal, state, local and corporate regulations
- OSHA 10 & 30 Required; OSHA 500 preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
