Kelly Science & Clinical is looking for a Laboratory Supervisor to join a growing automotive, commercial, and chemical CMO driving the field forward at their new location in New Kensington, PA.
About This Role
Provide analytical problem-solving support for root cause analysis within our New Kensington plant. Oversees laboratory safety and ensures that the laboratory remains in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

About This Role
Provide analytical problem-solving support for root cause analysis within our New Kensington plant. Oversees laboratory safety and ensures that the laboratory remains in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Collects samples of materials and finished products for analysis.
- Performs laboratory testing using standard laboratory equipment and techniques.
- Performs required testing on all batch, first article, and bulk load coolant samples.
- Performs required testing as applicable on incoming raw chemicals.
- Records and reports test results accurately and promptly.
- Ensures requirements for maintaining safe laboratory practices are followed.
- Orders and maintains lab stocks all necessary supplies.
- Proactively inspects equipment and instrumentation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Calibrates and maintains laboratory instruments and analytical equipment.
- Manages customer formulations, specifications, and testing procedures.
- Maintains customer test results database and satisfies customer sample requests.
- Maintains sample system.
- Investigates out-of-specification chemicals and batches, liaisons with customer, and provides guidance for resolution.
- Ensures all applicable paperwork/documentation is accurately completed and filed.
- Maintains detailed records of laboratory activities, test results, and procedures in accordance with company protocols.
- Works to follow and established procedures for handling and storing materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Develops KPI, and provides quarterly reports on the lab’s throughput, and asset utilization.
- Maintain lab cleanliness and organization per 5S methodology.
- Observe and comply with company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Additional customer support and customer follow-ups as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, engineering sciences, or related field experience with good knowledge of physiochemistry.
- 3-5yrs of hands-on analytical wet chemistry testing required
- Experience using UHPLC, ICP, IC and GC/MS equipment and methods desired.
- Strong analytical skills, strong problem-solving ability, and ability to efficiently manage a busy schedule necessary.
- Able to manage multiple projects and varying tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and lead lab team needed.
- A strong team player, able to interact and cooperate with the business and R&D team.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong active listening skills.
- Ability to effectively execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
- Experience in MS Office Suite.
