What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician I position at Kelly?
Kelly is hiring for a Laboratory Technician I position with one of our clients in St. Louis, MO.
- 2nd shift 3:00p-11:30p M-F (Alternating Saturday afternoons when production is running)
- 6 months contract (May be extended or converted)
- $22/hr
Job Description:
- Obtain samples, perform routine lab analyses, and review documentation according to standard written procedures or specific verbal instructions.
- Recognize problem areas with samples, procedures, results, records or equipment and attempt to identify appropriate corrective action
- Determine which raw materials and components require sampling through ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
- Perform routine product and raw material testing of samples.
- Document results on appropriate paperwork, and notify Supervisor of non-conforming results.
- Perform transactions in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system as necessary to identify the status of materials (routine release actions, quarantine, or QC Hold at the direction of Supervisor/Manager)
- Assist in laboratory maintenance, including instrument calibration, preparation of standards used in testing, and proper disposal of expired and/or unused materials.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related preferred.
- 1 - 3 years experience in lab environment.
- Knowledge of standard aseptic techniques and/or common laboratory equipment use
- Knowledge of chemical assays and equipment.
