Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Operations Manager in Skokie, IL.
This is a Direct Hire, Permanent position, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their competitive benefit and vacation package upon hire.

Hours: daytime, 8am – 5pm
General info:
- Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision and execution of all phases of operations including production planning, quality control, inventory, receiving, and shipping.
- Responsibilities also include personnel training, facility maintenance, and improvements (productivity and capital).
- The Operations Manager will work closely with the team to improve efficiencies and increase profitability of operations.
- This position is focused on customers and their needs to achieve all expectations and to drive best in class operations for our industry.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides leadership to site teams that enables the successful day-to-day operation of the facility with a strong focus on safety, productivity, and team development.
- Directs and controls the warehouse’s receiving, production, inventory, and outbound order processing. This includes ensuring compliance with the business’s quality management system (QMS), production performance KPI’s, and operational cost performance through evaluating results and taking actions to continually improve performance.
- Develop, manage, and report on effective key measurements for each of these departments to drive impact and ensure achievement of company strategy and objectives.
- Identify process gaps and/or bottlenecks in both quality system and production and implement solutions in a timely manner.
- Staff, coach, mentor, evaluate, train, and develop team members. Provide timely feedback and coaching to continually improve individual and team performance.
- Assist with identifying needs for new hire candidate selection, crafting job descriptions/training, and an onboarding plan with defined training curriculum, to build and retain high performing team members
- Monitor performance; prioritize and oversee initiatives to drive out costs and improve the effectiveness of the team
- Interface and collaborate across all departments to ensure cohesive direction, behavioral alignment, and consistency in decision-making to drive company strategy.
- Lead internal processes related to quality management, material planning, impact to systems and plant workflow, and timely deliverables.
- Develop strong communication processes with the customers to ensure they receive proactive communication and have a positive experience with the company.
- Partner with commercial team to develop a service strategy to attain sales goals; provide proactive communication to sales regarding issues.
- Other management functions including personnel development and performance management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure creation of stretching production and productivity targets/plans and ensure proper execution along with reporting and active communication of metrics.
- General oversight of day-to-day operations including all supply chain elements from
- materials planning to inventory management (incl global Amazon) and personnel issues.
- This position will be required to help maintain equipment and execute special projects or
- other related duties based on the needs of the Company.
- Escalate/communicate issues to leadership as needed
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s/associates degree in a technical (e.g., science/engineering/mechanics) or business (e.g., finance) discipline is highly desirable.
- A minimum of two (2) years of direct workforce supervision experience of 10 or more people
- Highly computer literate — particularly in spreadsheet development and Microsoft Office Suite products
- Spanish language skills are desirable
