Kelly Services is now hiring for our client in Westlake, Ohio for a Payroll Specialist II
This role is Direct Hire with our client
Salary $58k per year.
Hours- 8am-5, or 8:30-5 our client can be flexible on a start time.
General Summary
The Payroll Specialist will perform all phases of the payroll cycle for assigned US and Canadian pay groups. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for time and attendance and transaction balancing, tax set up analysis on an employee level, research and problem solving of payroll issues, transaction processing and required governmental reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail. The Payroll Specialist will demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills and will be able to work both independently and in a collaborative setting.
- Responsible for all facets of processing payroll for assigned US and Canadian pay groups
- Provides primary backup and support to processing team
- Research issues and discrepancies and processes necessary corrections
- Responsible for ensuring all audit controls are enforced and functioning as expected
- Responsible for remaining current on all tax and pay regulations
- Looks for continuous process improvement opportunities
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree preferred, experience in lieu of education may be considered
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Experience with governmental and internal reporting requirements and reporting tools knowledge
• Intermediate computer skills, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
• Strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of expats, severance, and relocation desirable, but not required
Experience Required:
- A minimum of 3 years previous payroll processing experience required
- Working knowledge of automated time and attendance systems
- Previous experience with ADP and Ceridian, preferred
- Experience working in a corporate setting with an employee population greater than 2,000
