The Job
As a Senior IOT Control Engineer at Kelvin, you will work closely with customers to understand their requirements and in turn provide that “context” to the internal Data Science and Engineering Teams.

At Kelvin, your main responsibilities will be:
- Understanding a customer's process and practice (understand how a manufacturing line operates and is controlled) and being able to relate that to Kelvin’s product offerings.
- Interfacing with Kelvin Product and Engineering Teams on what is understood about a customer's requirements and collaborate on a solution.
- To become versed in the entire Kelvin offering and develop example applications for testing and training purposes.
- To be one of the primary OT context holders. This means that your knowledge of how control systems work will be key to what gets built and how the Kelvin tools are used to solve customer problems.
Must Have:
- 10 years of industrial experience in Oil and Gas AND/OR Manufacturing, specifically in Process Control, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
- Factory Design and Documentation of industrial systems (Instrument Diagrams, Leveraging and Creating Project Documents)
- Factory Automation Systems (PLC, DCS)
- Factory Instrumentation (Sensors, End Devices)
- Experience with OT/IT Protocol Clients / Server applications (at least one of the following: OPCUA, OPCDA, Modbus, Ethernet IP or other similarly structured protocols)
- Experience in implementing an AI or ML solution that leveraged control system data.
- A Strong interest in the Python programming language. The Kelvin Platform tools produce workloads based upon Python.
Preferred To Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Process Control, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering with significant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with significant experience
- Python (classes, typing, REST APIs, batch- and event-based programming)
- Software Version Control (GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.)
- Database Systems (Relational, Time-Series)
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-services (AWS, Azure)
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Multiple OT/IT SCADA Systems (Ignition, Wonderware, Iconics)
- OT Experience solving problems or projects related to continuous or batch manufacturing processes.
- OT/IT Experience Leveraging automation vendor APIs (Siemens Openness, Rockwell Library Designer, APM)
- OT APC / MPC Implementation / maintenance (AspenTech)
