Kendal at Hanover is a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, set on 65 rolling acres along the Connecticut River, that is home to 400 residents. This personalized continuum of care encompasses independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing care.
The Opportunity
We have a wonderful opportunity to be an integral part of our Kendal community as the Cafe Manager. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week and weekends are required. Specific shift times will vary based on need, but includes first and second shifts. Previous supervisory experience is required in order for candidates to be considered for this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assures the quality of service in the Cafe by ensuring proper service and staffing levels at all times
- Ensures staff clean tables, stock silverware, and set up the Cafe appropriately for each meal
- Oversees the thorough cleaning of all Cafe work areas before, during, and after shifts.
- Assures quality service by greeting and assisting Kendal residents and guests at needed.
- Facilitates staffing in the Cafe by interviewing and selecting candidates for job openings, makes recommendations for employment actions including terminations, and participates in the interview and selection process.
- Directly supervises staff members in the Cafe, including responsibilities such as preparing and administering performance evaluations.
