Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- Drive revenue for the assigned region through quotes and sales.
- Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge to select the correct products or assist clients in making product selections, based on need, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Visit client locations and complete walk-throughs, take field measurements, assess needs, etc.
- Answer client questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses.
- Prepare accurate quotes and sales orders, following company procedures and policies for mark-ups, GPM's, and discounts.
- Follow company credit approval and billing procedures.
- Provide accurate information for processing and delivery / installation of products and / or service work.
- Maintain close contact with clients to identify value add opportunities and services.
- Resolve any issues or problems after supplying product and to provide ongoing support as needed.
- Provide superior customer service to clients and establish long term business relationships.
- Execute annual individual and group sales plan for assigned region
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Identify and grow opportunities as related to customer needs and opportunities
- Weekly communication with Director of Sales to report on client activity, strategy, developments, etc.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities :
- Participate in regular Sales meetings to provide relevant updates, needs, issues to resolve
- Maintain and improve professional and technical knowledge by attending industry related or manufacturer, vendor, or distributor supported educational presentations / training sessions / workshops.
Completion of quarterly and annual training requirements.
Work Relationships and Scope : Reports to the Director of Business Development. Works internally with other NCSO team members, Purchasing Department, Shop, AR, Keying Group, and Shipping / Receiving.
Work closely externally with Distributor Account Representatives, General Contractors, and Owner Representatives.
Measures of Performance / Competencies :
- Drive revenue generation for organization with identified customers and new customer accounts
- Maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Expand and grow client base and market presence.
- Meet or exceed annual individual sales objective at established minimum GPM.
- Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.
- Minimum 5 years’ sales experience, preferably 3 years industry / distributor related
- Experience with operational processes and understanding of managing the customer throughout the complete order progression
- Strong interpersonal skills, customer relations skills, and negotiation skills to work with a variety of individuals, manage various situations, and to influence and persuade
- Experience delivering solutions based upon customer need
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
- Customer service oriented
- Perform and apply basic math activities / principles (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percents, decimals, fractions)
- Able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet changing deadlines and special requests
- Work well under minimal supervision and with a team
- Perform daily tasks in alignment with organizational core values
- Valid driver's license and be insurable to drive
