Operator Calciner
An experienced operator in the APT plant who is fully trained in other areas and proficient in their work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safety
- Participate in all safety programs
- Observe all safety rules and wear appropriate PPE, where required. Report all safety incidents, unsafe acts and conditions
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and internal guidelines and policies
- Drying and oxidizing feeds for the ammonium paratungstate (APT) plant
- Operation of high temperature furnaces
- Operation of crushing and screening equipment
- Operation of hoists
- Operation of a pneumatic particle conveying system
- Participate in the process improvement program
- Perform other duties as assigned by Production Specialist, Supervisor or Plant Manager
Equipment Used: Personal Protective Equipment, Furnaces, Barrel Grab, Forklift, Shovel, Crane, and Scales

Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Complete mentor program in a timely manner
- Trained in three areas in the Chemical Plant
- Transferable to move or work in other trained areas as deemed necessary by the Supervisor and / or Plant Manager
- Operate equipment properly and keep area clean
- Ability to perform on a 12 hour shift
- Good attitude
Physical Requirements:
- Wear personal protective equipment
- Must be able to use both hands at the same time while pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, lifting, stooping, and walking
- Must have good eye/hand coordination with all physical movements well coordinated
- Must be able to work for long periods, while standing
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25kgs
Education Guidelines:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience Guidelines:
- Previous experience in chemical operations or powder handling is desirable
- Previous experience handling acids and bases or other chemicals is desirable
