Certificated Base Salary Range: 2022-23 Certificated Salary Schedule (finalsite.net)

Qualifications Required:

1. Valid Washington State teacher’s certificate appropriate for elementary level

2. Endorsement in elementary education

3. Satisfactory evaluations


Preferred Qualifications:

1. Successful teaching experience as documented by evaluations and references.

2. Willingness to comply with requirement to teach curriculum as implemented at school.

3. Evidence of success in working well with parents, students, and staff members.

4. Evidence of success in working with others to develop a cohesive, collaborative, teaming situation.

5. Recent intermediate classroom teaching experience within the last three years.

6. Training or demonstrated successful experience in:

  • PBIS and willingness to follow progressive discipline plan.
  • Journeys Curriculum
  • Cooperative learning
  • Use of technology and its integration into instruction, especially computers
  • Alternative assessment strategies based on rubrics or other standards
  • Hands-on science instruction using Carolina Biological STC Kit
  • TPEP evaluation and Danielson Framework
  • GLAD training

7. Willingness to or evidence of successfully including students with special needs into the regular classroom.

8. Evidence of success in working with students who are below grade level (strategies used in the classroom may be submitted) as well as those who are above grade level.

9. Evidence of successfully aligning curriculum to Common Core and using a variety of assessment techniques to monitor student progress and drive instructional decisions.

10. Evidence of successfully helping students reach district and state performance standards.

11. Evidence of successful classroom management and student/teacher relationships.

12. Evidence of successful experience using data to adjust support student progress.

13. Belief that all students can succeed, No Exceptions.

14. Punctual and consistent attendance.


Job Description:

1. Meet and instruct the students in the location at the time designated.

2. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided.

3. Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request from the immediate supervisor.

4. Take all reasonable and necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.

5. Teach students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior (develop a written classroom plan that is connected to the school wide behavior expectations).

6. Maintain records as required by law, District policy and administrative guidelines.

7. Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules and administrative regulations.

8. Attend and participate in faculty and team meetings.

9. Teach curriculum as implemented by the school using developmentally-appropriate practices, hands-on projects, cooperative group activities and assess progress in a variety of ways.

10. Participate in building-wide programs including: Kids at Hope, PBIS, study and social skills.

11. Participate in ongoing professional development activities.

12. Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents and colleagues concerning both the academic and behavioral progress of all students.

13. Establish and maintain collaborative professional relationships with others.

14. Attend grade level data meetings to discuss student progress.

15. Perform related duties as assigned by the administration in accordance with District policies and practices.

Sense: The employee is required to talk/hear conversations and other sounds. The employee must be able to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. The employee is required to taste and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.


Lifting: The employee must be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 26 lbs; must also be able to lift overhead. The employee may be required to physically move quickly in an emergency or while performing student supervision duties.

Physical Hazards: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work outdoors in a wide variety of temperatures; from -10 degrees F to 100 degrees F . The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in this work environment is moderate.


Application Procedure: In-District staff must complete an internal online application by 10:00 p.m. (PST) on or before the closing date. In-building/In-district staff will have eight school days, or eight working days during the summer to apply for a vacant position through the online application system. The employee may choose but will not be required to meet with the building administrator to understand the building practices, procedures and initiatives specific to the position to which they are applying. After eight days if an in-building employee is qualified for the position, the principal will offer the employee the position. In the case that more than one in-building employee is interested in a position, the position will be offered to the qualified and senior employee. If a position is not filled in-building after the eight day period, the position will be offered to the qualified, most senior in-district applicant, if any. Teachers with a summative evaluation score of 1 or 2 are not eligible to transfer unless agreed upon by the District and Association.


Out-of-District applicants must complete the online District application and attach a letter of interest, resume, valid Washington state teaching credential, and copies of transcripts with degree posted. All hires are subject to completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.
