Grain Processing Corporation (GPC), a member of the KENT® Corporation family of companies, has an exciting opportunity to join their prosperous team as a Sales Executive in Muscatine, Iowa. The Sales Executive role is responsible for the marketing, sales, and technical support of GPC products assigned to the Industrial Products Sales group that primarily supports the paper and corrugating industries.
- The successful candidate will be based in Muscatine, Iowa and receive hands-on training with multiple sales team members that cover territories in the United States.
- Marketing and sale of products assigned to the paper and packaging group
- Ability to report on customer activities including new applications, industry developments, and market trends
- Maintains up-to-date sales records through Microsoft Dynamics
- Initiates and maintains personal, phone and written contact with customer and makes the sale
- Assists customers with technical formulas and problem solving for corrugating, paper, and other binding and coating applications
- Cultivates accounts by maintaining close business relationships with Procurement, Operations, Research & Development, and other partners who influence purchasing decisions
- Plans territorial coverage and sales calls to maximize efficient use of time
- Identifies key accounts, both current and potential, and develops strategy to maintain and build business at these accounts
- Maintains memberships and participates in trade association activities
- Develops and maintains a high degree of product and market knowledge
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relative field of study, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum two years of technical or specialty sales experience
- Experience with wet milling, papermaking, corrugating or related starch industry desired
- Instinctive feel for markets and ability to relate to the needs of the same
- Demonstrated ability to isolate problems into proper perspective
- Honest, with a high degree of personal integrity and strong ethical business values
- Ability to function and excel independently within an assigned sales territory
- Focused on achieving results, goals and performance oriented
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and proficient with computers
- Self-assured, highly visible and appropriately vocal, aggressive yet a team player
- Detail oriented, logical, orderly, creative
- Ability to develop and implement targeted sales strategies
- Travel required (30%-60%) - can include day trips as well as overnight travel
