What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training coordinator position at Kent Hospital?
Primary Function
Teaches and reviews Pharmacy Technician University with students enrolled in the training program. Holds classes once a week to discuss homework utilizing pharmacists as guest speakers to go over specialized areas in pharmacy.
Responsible for compliance of student’s progression within program. Reports progress of students in the training program to the operations manager as well as coordinating students with trainers.
Continues to develop and advance methods to ensure programs successfulness. Completion of day-to-day pharmacy technician tasks;
responsible for correct and thorough training of all new employees depending on shift or area of work, i.e., IV, ER, etc.
and any students in the Tech Training Program. Flex shift times to give training on 1st and 2nd shift to encompass the entirety of the technician role.
Work with the operations manager to ensure that work assignments of assigned employees are carried out and distribute and balance workload.
Act as a shift leader and answer employee questions concerning departmental policies / procedures, and directives; review, amend and check work in progress to ensure methods and deadlines have been met;
report problems, recognition of outstanding performance and personnel needs to the Operations Manager. Continue to grow training methods and advancement of training binders.
Job Qualifications and Specifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years of college experience or employment experience comparable to college training preferred.
At least two years of hospital related background and training operations. Valid RI pharmacy technician registration and National Certified Pharmacy Technician Affiliation required.
