Description:
This job will perform painting of custom semi-trailers to include aluminum, steel and galvanized materials in accordance with OSHA/EPA regulations. Painters will be painting a 53 feet long x 13 ½ feet tall x 8 ½ feet wide in either a down draft or back draft Paint Booth via HVLP system.
Painters prepare, prime and paint components, subassemblies and semi-trailers using a multitude of materials at Kentucky Trailer. Install rough and finish components into mobile platforms.
Must be well versed in the use and knowledge of equipment, products and techniques required to obtain desired results (i.e. HVLP spray gun, material characteristics and). Position may involve: Pressure Washing, Manual Sanding, Masking/Demasking, Wrapping and all other aspects of prep work prior to paint including solvent wiping and any other assigned duties.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-5 years "stable" work history
- Experience in an industrial, manufacturing or production Paint Shop with a Paint Booth (auto, bus, truck, trailer, plane, train and/or large industrial structures/equipment) is required
- Strong attention to detail must be demonstrated
- Knowledge in mixing industrial paints such as Acrylics, Enamel, Etching Primer, Epoxy, Urethanes, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of how to operate HVLP guns and conventional spray equipment Pressure pots and pressure cup guns (Binks-Devilbiss) are used at our facility
- Candidates must be flexible to work Overtime & Weekends as needed
- Experienced w/HVLP painting system
- Good communication skills (read, write, speak, listen and understand work instructions)
- Math Skills: ability to add, multiply, divide
- Able to stand 10hrs/day
- Able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally
- Able to perform repetitive tasks; high physical activity
- Able to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, twist climb and/or crawl; not afraid of heights
- Able to communicate (read, write, speak, listen and understand work instructions)
- Pre-Employment Screening
- PPE: Steel toed shoes and safety glasses are required at all times. Respirator required while painting
Please Note:
- Residential Painters will not qualify for this position or anyone who has experience only with brushes, latex and oil based house paints
- Automotive Painters may be considered depending on experience
