Zarbee’s in-house Design is an embedded end-to-end creative solutions team, working in close partnership with Marketing across a variety of channels including packaging, print, digital, social, POS, video, and more. Strategic and Conceptual The Head of Creative Design always leads with strategy and is deeply committed to practical solutions and delivery. You have the skills to manage progressive solutions for high-level brand strategy and experience needs and are adept at delivering the concept-driven touchpoint solutions to visual systems and standards across the brand. Craft and Inspiration From brand strategy and expression in social media, product and packaging, and omni channel, the Head of Creative Design demonstrates a thorough understanding and personal experience of how to orchestrate the many stages of brand design and bring these tactically to our consumers. You have superior presentation and storytelling skills, and know how to both produce packaging and create a brand experience across all touchpoints and channels. In addition, you instill confidence and focus with your teammates and partners in the way that you share work. Collaborative and Rigorous The Head of Creative Design works collaboratively with all team members and business partners (marketing, operations, regulatory, and innovation), successfully leading strong working relations. You comfortably lead working meetings and collaborative exploration and represent all work. You have mastered the skills required for all phases of the brand design process - research, strategy, design, and execution, and can deliver excellence in workable solutions. Professional Leadership The Head of Creative Design not only handles many projects at one time, contributing to their delivery, but you also manage a team of differing design capabilities and partner agencies on an individual and team basis to optimize working processes and efficiencies. The position has four direct reports (Lead Designer, Senior Designer, Designer, and Creative Project Management Lead) and will report directly to the Head of Marketing. The position also oversees the work of multiple creative consultants and freelancers. Primary Responsibilities - Manage, develop and inspire a team of broad design capabilities within Zarbee’s, both from a project and a personal career development perspective. - Working within regulations, leading design objectives to achieve business targets across channels. - Partner with other teams to define strategies and tactics in service of business results. - Bring the experience of product, strategy, and process visualization. - Use extensive knowledge of design thinking and leverage knowledge of design that guide J&J design solutions. - Develop and maintain strong cross-cultural partnerships. - Assess and improve processes and methodologies, adopting modern, agile ways of working. - Advocate, drive and implement environmentally sustainable design solutions. - Leverage internal and external insights to translate into innovative solutions to meet program and project goals. - Manage team and projects from concept through approval and into production and printing for both packaging and display, also includes approving printer proofs with outside vendors. - Collaborate on creative strategy and produce content for social media, omni channel, eCommerce, and CRM emails - Maintain brand assets across the organization - Develop tool kits and brand assets for broader use - Contribute and maintain Brand Guidelines, Packaging Guidelines, and Social Media Guidelines
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required with a major in design or a related field. - A minimum of 5-7 years of design-related experience and design leadership is required. - Demonstrate strong visual, written, and oral communication skills. - Financial budgeting skills and competency is required. - Up to 50% hands-on design work. - Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite are required (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop). - Experience with Adobe Xd and After Effects is a plus. - Experience using project management software is preferred (Wrike). - Portfolio link MUST be included on each resume to be considered as a qualified candidate. - This position is located in Greenwich, CT with flexible work arrangements permitted.
