Bring your skills to the 2020 Kenworth Dealer of the Year! Truck Enterprises, Inc. along with Kenworth Sales Co., a 33-location Kenworth and Isuzu truck dealership group, is looking for a Truck Service Technician to join our Harrisonburg, VA team.
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary function of the Used Truck Service Technician is to perform quality minor repairs to equipment acquired by the Used Truck Department and to create detailed work orders for the main shop to perform any major mechanical issues as noted. Monitor repairs and verify they are done in a timely fashion and manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives truck and performs uses the Used Truck inspection form assigned to the unit
- Performs work listed on the Used Truck inspection form in a timely and thorough manner
- Advises Shop Foreman of any additional work needed to pass the inspection form
- Determines if any further repairs or servicing should be recommended to the Used Truck Manager and communicates such recommendations to the Used Truck Manager
- Maintains a level of training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques necessary for servicing of the customer’s equipment
- Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager
- Performs additional repairs as required when any piece of equipment is returned by the customer because of the Technician’s faulty workmanship
- Maintains accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked on jobs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic knowledge of truck repair and maintenance
- Manual dexterity and good judgement
- Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information
