GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB:

The primary function of the Warehouse/Logistics/Inventory Control Supervisor is to manage outbound shipments, inbound receiving, inventory management of finished goods and raw material, and logistics management. Responsible for developing and maintaining a high performing team with strong employee morale and dedication to serving customers. Ensure the team embraces and represents the values and goals of Kerma Medical Products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage warehouse/logistics/inventory control teams .
    • Interviews and make selection recommendations for team members.
    • Ensure that all duties of each employee are completed, both timely and accurately.
    • Coach and counsel employees on performance, disciplinary, and training issues, when necessary, and maintain all relevant records.
    • Develop KPI’s to enable objective assessment of performance and identify areas for improvement .
    • Maintain a training program for new warehouse employees and certification requirements for use of all warehouse equipment.
    • Conduct regular team member feedback and performance meetings.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of order selection and outbound shipping.
    • Maintain 99% accuracy and quality of picking and shipping outbound orders. This is inclusive of accurate transactional documentation (shipping labels, BOL’s, etc), shipping confirmation, and end of day reports and confirmations.
    • Ensure all team deliverables are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the inventory.
    • Establishes and executes quarterly cycle count and ensures cycle is completed and submitted by the 5th of the month following the end of the quarter. Process relevant adjustments and transfers along with the proper support documentation in a timely manner.
    • Manage periodic physical counts, as needed
    • Replenish bins daily as needed to ensure ease and accuracy of order selection.
    • Establish and maintain effective internal controls over the product flow and account of inventory through receiving, replenishment, distribution, or other transactions.
    • Periodically review warehouse layout ensuring efficient order selection and pallet construction.
    • Monitors inventory valuation, inventory movement, and assists in proper disposition.
    • Proficient in use of WMS systems and tools. Able to run daily performance and transactional reports.
  • Manage all inbound receiving, domestic and international, of products, materials, and returns. Schedule inbound appointments to ensure timely and accurate receipts. Ensure all inbound orders are palletized, labeled, and released into inventory. Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) merchandise is received and transferred to Quality.
  • Manage all outbound shipping. Schedule outbound appointments to ensure time and accurate delivery.
  • Manage spectrum of shipping vendors to provide high-quality, low-cost delivery within contractual requirements.
    • Manage service agreements, freight rates, and vendor relationships.
    • Approval of freight invoices.
    • Create prime delivery routes and patterns to ensure timely delivery and meet departmental goals.
    • Use, update, and maintain TMS software.
  • Maintain current processes and ensure our practices support lean manufacturing, are ISO compliant, meet FDA standards, and meet OSHA requirements. Ensure compliance with established processes and procedures.
  • Manage the Wireless Management System and ensure proper use for order selection, receiving, counting, and inventory of products. Maintain daily performance and transactional reports.
  • Manage warehouse documentation requirements and foster a paper-free environment.
  • Maintain clean, sanitary working environment to ensure proper storage and delivery of products as defined in our quality standards. Ensure warehouse is consistently “visitor ready.”
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual, including safety, security, and quality.
  • Identify, through a proactive approach, potential cost saving and efficiency gain opportunities in logistics and inventory to improve overall performance and operating metrics.
  • Identify and solve issues as they are presented.
  • Ensure that e-mails are checked throughout the day and responded to promptly. Process any expedited request as needed.
  • Provide high quality customer service to all in-house personnel, customers, and vendors.
  • Promptly respond to all internal and external inquiries.
  • Ensure the warehouse is secure prior to departure at the end of day.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and calibration of the warehouse and equipment. Maintain proper documentation and maintenance records.
  • Perform other duties including special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.
  • Works with other team members to achieve best outcomes for Kerma.

MIMINUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree preferred; Must be a High School graduate with a minimum of 6 years directly related work experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience in Lean Manufacturing practices and/or other manufacturing practices.

Knowledge / Skills/ Abilities:

  • Must be certified to operate all warehouse equipment.
  • Must have excellent communication, articulation, grammar, writing and comprehension skills in English (oral and written)
  • Must be mathematically proficient. Able to of add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions, compute percentages and ratios, and create simple charts and graphs.
  • Must be able to investigate issues using sound logic
  • Excellent time management skills; able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment; able to prioritize workload.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize work assignments.
  • Must be able to assess, train and coach team members.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive, constructive work environment.
  • Must be able to execute quality, safety, and sanitation standards to support ISO standards.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Applications effectively and efficiently and have ability to learn new software programs (Starship, ADP, etc.). Must be able to utilize wireless warehouse tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand in stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders to pull merchandise.
