About the role
Our Portland, ME location is part of our Liquid Beverage division and specializes in coffee extract and flavorings created for Kerry products and customers! This site is held to the high standards to be considered Organic and Kosher products.
This position is responsible for the proper following all safety and quality procedures and work instructions for each specific function. Following as well all GMPs. Record all data accurately and in real-time. Notify Supervisor or Management of any deviations, non-conforming product (Raw Material or Finished Good), non-conforming equipment or suspicious activity.
Key responsibilities
- Monitors and ensures compliance to company adopted regulatory and industry accepted quality guidelines at the production level and at all times.
- Contributes to the maintenance and development of quality processes to ensure the growth and health of the company quality system.
- Actively participates in the Food Safety/Food Quality team and the review of processes to maintain SQF registration.
- Performs raw material and finished product testing and accurately enters data into SAP.
- Performs and documents cleaning inspections and testing to ensure appropriate sanitation standards are achieved and maintained.
- Manages and documents the testing of raw material samples and the evaluation of these materials for compliance to stated COA.
- Review’s production batch records, sanitation records, receiving records and order packets and reports any deviations found to management.
- Performs and documents verification procedures for production and laboratory scales and analytical equipment in compliance with stated verification schedules.
- Maintains quality associated materials inventories at pre-established order points to ensure adequate supply and the maximization of cost savings.
- Creates, reviews, and approves internal bin tags/pick sheets as well as finished product labels for bulk packaging.
- As directed - performs and documents material analysis associated with quality failures in production or associated with customer inquiries and complaints.
- Assists with the processing and maintenance of production records, including, production batch records, room use logs, calibration reports, equipment logs, third party laboratory results and environmental monitoring results.
Qualifications and skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience. Some college work preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in food manufacturing (Preferred).
- Good computer skills (SAP and Excel is preferred).
- Ability to multitask, use logical thought processes and deductive reasoning.
Important: Please note that this position will support the 3rd. shift (9 pm to 5 am) mainly.
