KESCO, Incorporated is a highly technical explosives engineering and blasting company. We are seeking a blaster to join our team who will work on high profile jobs where every solution is different. The candidate shall be a licensed blaster with verifiable experience of linear and precision presplit methods. The position will provide opportunity to expand professional qualifications and advance the analytics of blasting which will expand earning potential as their skill set improves. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong work ethic and has exceptional communication skills.
Qualifications
- Licensed blaster with 10 years’ experience
- Familiarity with construction, ability to evaluate field conditions and enjoys working in the field
- Valid driver’s license
- Existing state licenses preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team required
- Demonstrated ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions
- Email, Excel and basic computer knowledge required
- Demonstrated ability to provide communication with engineering team
- Detail oriented
- Satisfactory safety history required
- Willingness to travel 75% or more of time
- Candidates are subject to a background check through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to screen felony records as appropriate in compliance with federal government restrictions
Job Responsibilities
- May act as Blaster in Charge on jobs
- Physically capable of carrying explosive bags, cartridges, powder, stemming material and other supplies to blasting area
- Participate in design, determine of strength, and pattern of blast required
- Creation of blast plans with ability to follow plans
- Study of formation to determine type, amount and location of explosives
- Inspect blast area to make sure all safety laws are observed
- Signal workers to clear area
- Set up seismographs
- Compile blast reports
- Inventory of blasting agents
- May transport blast material to blast are using light pick-up truck
