Ketchum is looking for a VP, Internal Communications!
This is a great opportunity to join an award-winning agency and be responsible for setting the internal communications strategy and execution. The goal is to engage colleagues at all levels as Ketchum's brand ambassadors and as key contributors to the company's success.
Working closely and reporting into the EVP, Marketing and Communications, partnering with senior leadership, global teams, DEI, People, Organizational Development and Talent Teams, the qualified candidate will develop the strategic direction and accompanying plan for internal communications with the goal of keeping employees informed and engaged with Ketchum's vision, goals, values, and best practices.
About the Job
Here's an idea of what you'll do:
- Own internal communications plans from calendaring, concept/planning through to seamless execution. Accountable for continuous quality and process improvement for internal communications platforms, including ongoing assessment, measurement and evolution
- Ensure consistent messaging on all internal communications channels, using the full spectrum of solutions from in-person to electronic to print to video. Demonstrate strategic understanding of channels like social media and video in relation to internal communications needs.
- Deliver strategic, engaging, and persuasive communications - shareable stories - to effectively articulate ideas to internal employee audience across the internal channel ecosystem. Continue to create new ways to share information and drive employee engagement with an increased emphasis on visual storytelling
- Problem-solve at highest level
- Develop leadership and firm-wide communications including executive management communications, agency wide town hall meetings and virtual employee meetings. Draft key messages and ensure timely and consistent communications to employees on current news and agency priorities
- Work with Talent, Organization Development and Learning & Development functions on communications to provide leaders with the skills they need to drive dialogue and engage employees
- Works on emerging issues as well as crises, helping to develop communications responses and plans
- Shape a culture of respect and integrity, influence others to their best performance, and ensure compliance with agency policies. Participate in agency programs and encourage others to contribute
- Grow strong relationships with colleagues across the network, become a trusted advisor
Qualifications
We're looking for required skills that can come from any combination of education and experience. Typical qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Communications & Media, Marketing, Advertising or a related field preferred
- At least 10 years of experience in an agency or similar position
- Strong project management and leadership skills are a must to be able to manage the gamut of internal communications from start to finish, handle and incorporate feedback and be timely
- Demonstrated proactive ability to generate creative ideas, shape stories, be a trusted resource for internal stakeholders and media, and drive execution for full-scale communications programs
- Extremely strong writing and editing skills, with ability to write effective external communications materials, including press releases, key messages, video scripts, bylines and blog posts, proficient in AP style
- Familiarity with content strategy, SEO, analytics tools, and other marketing technology is not required but is a differentiator
- Ability to work confidently with senior executives and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Open-minded leader/creator who loves spotting hidden opportunities and responds enthusiastically to change

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000. This position may be bonus eligible depending on individual employee performance and Ketchum business performance. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.This position may be bonus eligible depending on individual employee performance and Ketchum business performance.
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
