Summary:
Kettle Falls School District is looking for a strong, positive, customer service oriented, and driven leader. This person will work to build a department and culture that promotes effective communication and collaboration within the department, the district, and the technology cooperative. The director will ensure our systems and flow of information are effective and secure so that our staff and students can thrive. The Technology Director is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and management of technology systems and infrastructure within the cooperative. The Director will work closely with the Superintendents, principals, teachers, and staff to identify technology needs, develop technology plans, and oversee the execution of those plans. The technology cooperative consists of the Curlew, Kettle Falls, and Republic School Districts.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a technology plan that supports the district's educational goals and objectives
  • Manage the district's technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networking
  • Ensure that all technology systems are secure, reliable, and accessible to all authorized users
  • Provide technical support to all staff, teachers, and students
  • Identify emerging technology trends and assess their potential impact on the district
  • Ensure that all district technology policies and procedures are up-to-date and in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Manage the technology budget and oversee procurement of hardware, software, and other technology-related resources
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that technology systems are integrated and aligned with district goals
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure that staff, teachers, and students are proficient in the use of technology systems
  • Develop and maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers
  • Develop and maintain an IT strategic plan
  • Oversee district technology inventory, and procurement of new equipment
  • Build working relationship facilities and maintenance staff
  • Respond to e-mail and voicemail requests in a timely fashion, generate work orders, and maintain documentation


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technology management, preferably in an educational environment
  • Experience managing technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networking
  • Strong understanding of data privacy and security regulations
  • Has knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in education, and experience with the implementation of cybersecurity standards
  • Ability to manage budgets and procurement processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff, teachers, parents, and vendors
  • Experience developing and delivering technology training programs

A person working in this position is confined to a work area; required to have dexterity of fingers and hands while working at a computer monitor for prolonged periods and must be able lift/move objects weighing up to 50 pounds such as files, boxes, etc. The noise level in the work environment can vary depending upon daily activity but will remain within acceptable ranges.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT and Salary:
This is a 260 day per year contract, with 12 holidays. The contract year is September through August of each school year.

The salary range for the position is: Min $90,000 – Max $100,000

Each employee shall accumulate twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. An employee employed less than a full work year shall be entitled to a proportionate part of the sick leave allowance. A maximum of three (3) days of annual leave are provided for all employees based on the employee’s scheduled employment hours per day to be used for an absence during work hours, or to be accumulated for the purpose of cash out.

Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability. Positions anticipated to work 70 hours or more per month for at least 5 months over a 12-month period are eligible for Retirement through the State Department of Retirement Services.
