Among the programs and services we provide are Outpatient Mental Health Centers, Adult and Child Psychiatric Rehabilitation Programs, School-Based Therapy, Community Outreach, and Residential Services.
Who We Need:
We are currently looking for a full-time Psychiatric Child Counselor to join our Aberdeen team.
What We Need:
- Someone who has knowledge of the DSM and relevant symptoms of the most common diagnosis of children in the PRP.
- Someone who can demonstrate proficiency in creating and implementing Individual Rehabilitation Plans.
- Someone who can demonstrate the ability to express themselves well through writing, interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Someone who has experience working with emotionally disturbed youth preferred.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Implement on-site and off-site rehabilitation activities outlined in the Individual Rehabilitation Plans
- Conduct in-take meetings for children accepted to the PRP
- Develop and/or implement the Individual Rehabilitation Plans
- Complete assigned in-home or community based visits, providing individualized, creative assistance and support designed to help children achieve their identified goals.
- Conduct PRP group activity sessions
- Provide individualized case management, psycho education, support and assistance
- Provide and/or coordinate transportation to individual and group PRP activities
- Must drive 15 passenger vans
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation
- Create and implement a monthly schedule of PRP activities. Work with other inter- and intra-agency professionals to coordinate services for assigned caseload. Maintain and ensure appropriate and timely communication with other Mental Health Professionals working with children enrolled in the PRP to ensure an efficient coordination of services.
What You Need:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred (one to one year exchange.) Degree must be in psychology, sociology, psychiatric rehab, mental health, or a related human services field.
- Valid and active Maryland driver's license (or state of residence) with less than 3 points
- Pass a criminal background check, MVA check, and provide a negative drug screen
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a religious accommodation or medical exemption
