Key Structures, a growing prefabrication home company in Pueblo, Colorado (Headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO) is looking to hire an experienced Safety Operations Manager. Position Title: Safety Coordinator

Position Reports to: Director of Safety, Quality & Compliance

Experience: Minimum of 3 years related experience; bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) Preferred, or 6 years relevant experience in lieu of degree

Requires detailed knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OHSA) guidelines and the ability to detect and eradicate any health and safety hazards accordingly.

Location: Headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO

Manufacturing plant located in Pueblo, CO with travel 10% or as needed

Career Level: Operational & Technical(exempt)

Salary: Full Time, Exempt Salary $54K - $57K

Primary Operational Objectives: Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing all safety measures in the warehouse and office. Manages and coordinates all organization safety activities and programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment for all employees; develops and implements accident prevention programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, maintain, and update safety policies, programs and associated documents to establish a comprehensive program, drive a culture of safety, ensure compliance, control risks and effectively manage key safety metrics
  • Evaluate and improve practices, procedures, and written materials to assess risk and compliance with applicable standards and industry practices
  • Effectively work with operations to develop project specific health and safety plans, job hazard analysis and associated documents in a timely manner
  • Conduct health and safety training and presentations to support program implementation, ensure compliance and engage staff.
  • Monitor compliance with corporate safety policies, project specific safety plans and applicable regulations through structured audits and site inspections
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root causes, manage risks and develop lessons learned
  • Be a leader and problem solver. Recommend solutions to issues.
  • Proactively make improvements and/or take action to reduce risks.
  • Serve as a program manager that includes reporting on program status, program development plans, health and safety metrics, and proactively engage senior leadership on risks, issues and support needs.
  • Maintain safety program files in an organized manner and ensure thorough documentation as required to ensure compliance, as required
  • Knowledgeable in local, State and OSHA safety and compliance
  • Preventative Maintenance planning, documentation, and work for all equipment
  • Site compliance documentation: creation of documents, plan and execution of maintenance
  • Training and development of site teams for PM and safety
  • Working knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations as applicable to the construction work environment and remote working conditions.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities. We need someone who can develop written programs and documents as well as supporting systems and processes followed by effective implementation.
  • Effectively build and maintain a safety culture including enforcement of health and safety program requirements and staff mentoring
  • Encourages employees and supervisors to report all unsafe conditions immediately and schedules or coordinates repairs as soon as possible.
  • Encourages employees and supervisors to report any injury that occurs on the job, even a slight cut or strain, immediately.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
  • Ability to speak in public as well as develop and deliver technical training.
  • Excellent writing, organizational, time management and motivational skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation skills with ability to articulate findings recommendations and needs in a succinct manner to senior management.
  • Self-motived and self-directed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to work closely with senior management team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • Must have a current, valid state issued driver’s license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
