Desktop Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Lake Mary, FL that is seeking a Desktop Engineer. Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, network and software issues
• Resolve and document user issues before escalating
• Assist clients with the installation, configuration of desktop computers, mobile devices, peripheral equipment and software
• Physical setup of new computers and software installation
• Work with 3rd party vendors to resolve software and hardware issues
• Install and/or upgrade Microsoft Operating Systems
• Install software, patches and updates on desktops, laptops and servers
• Perform virus detection and removal
• Network switch and server room cable management
• Configure and install firewalls to best practice standards
• Actively assist Senior Systems Engineers on projects (i.e. cabling, system migrations, server and firewall installations, VPN tunnel configuration, etc.)
• Participate in project planning, solution delivery, mentoring and teaching improved processes to team members
  
  

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience
• A , Network , or Security certifications preferred
• 5 years of relevant IT experience
• Knowledge of VoIP, voicemail, analog, and vendor specific hardware/software
• Microsoft O365 experience strongly desired
• Excellent problem solving and client relationship skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn and retain new technology skills and troubleshooting processes, team player, maintain calm and present yourself professionally in high stress situations
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
