RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer I to join their team. This is a remote role; However, the candidate must live within 2.5 hours of Milwaukee, WI or Brentwood, TN.
Summary:
In this role, you will perform the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance, support, and upgrade of the organizations IT infrastructure. This includes networks, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems. As a Network Engineer I, you will provide technical support to various departments and users regarding LAN/WAN, servers, and supporting systems.
Responsibilities:
* Researches, engineers, installs, and supports enterprise infrastructure systems such as: servers and associated operating systems, email, virtual servers and desktops, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, Wi-Fi systems, network security systems, storage systems, remote access systems, and network management/monitoring systems
* Engineers, installs, configures, and supports the datacenter environmental systems, such as: backup power systems, systems monitoring software, server backup systems, cooling systems, and generators
* Identify, diagnose, and resolve connection, reliability, or performance issues
* Assists in developing and enforcing security policies and procedures
* Serves as top tier escalation point for End User Services and Network Operations Center teams
* Creates and maintains network infrastructure documentation, policies, and procedures
* Serves in an advisory capacity to other IT groups in evaluation, implementation, and support of enterprise software and hardware solutions
* Plan, test, and participate in activities to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery for all enterprise systems
* Serves as a liaison with vendors and other third-party providers and customers
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or other related area preferred
* Minimum 4 years of information systems experience, including 2 years of experience directly with networking or server technologies required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Must have working knowledge of networking and server principles
* Basic knowledge of the organization to answer basic questions
* Advanced level of skill and can follow written or verbal instructions
* Basic skills to complete a few repetitive and well-defined duties
* Must possess good analytical thinking skills to resolve complex issues
* Must have excellent time management skills to work independently with minimal management supervision
* Must have a good team-building attitude and willingness to share with and learn from the team
* Direct experience with specific vendor products in use at Company is preferred
* Knowledge of SOX, PCI, and HIPAA policies a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
