What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Accountant position at Kforce?
A client of Kforce is looking for a Project Accountant to help on their accounting team for what could be up to 6 months in Quincy, MA.Responsibilities: * The Project Accountant will help to compile required payment backup including but not limited to cost reports, subcontractor billings, or lien waivers * Handle AP functions for projects including collecting and processing application for payment and ensure all necessary documentation for backup is provided * Work closely with the project management team and assist in handling subcontractor and/or client needs and inquiries * Validate and coordinate billing from vendors and subcontractors * Possess the ability to take on challenges head-on * Acquire project budget and enter data in appropriate areas * Ability to grow and build with the team as it evolves * The Project Accountant will work with project team to understand the needs specific to each project including contract type, specific documentation for each client: certified payroll, lien releases, etc. * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance a plus but experience can be substituted * Minimum of 2 years of project accounting * Basic Excel experience * Cost accounting or prior project accounting experience a plus * Detail oriented a must * Any construction systems experience such as Sage 300/Timberline, Vista by Viewpoint, CMIC, Accenture experience, Sage 100 a definite plus - systems aptitude and understanding * Construction and/or project accounting experience preferred * Understanding of what an AIA requisition is - definite plus * Ability to be flexible and handle changes as needed * Capacity to learn and take notes The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
