Responsibilities
- Greet each customer in a prompt, courteous manner 100% of the time and never differentiate between customer pay and warranty service.
- Secure an agreement from customer before repairs begin.
- Cover estimate of cost, and approximate time when car will be completed.
- Use service aids in a manner that will increase customer satisfaction and service sales.
- Actively promote service sales and look for opportunities to foster and suggest new or used car sales.
- All repair orders should be clearly and concisely input by computer in accordance with dealership policies.
- Make sure all repair orders include a clear definition of the concern.
- Verify that the complaint, cause, and corrections are included on repair order before release.
- Identify repairs that require special handling, such as: rush, customer waiting, special problem, comeback, etc.
- Road test car with owner in cases of rattles, unfamiliar noises, etc. to accurately determine concerns as appropriate.
- Make sure all cars are road tested prior to return to customer.
- Follow-up on customer work, delivery or estimated cost (we are bound legally in both areas).
- Answer incoming phone calls by customers, available for summons by a cashier.
- Follow-up on jobs completed by dealership as assigned.
- Check with a Service Manager whenever a discount is a consideration.
- Make sure all cars are returned to owners in clean and acceptable condition.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Maintain current knowledge of mechanical operation of entire product line.
- Have access to and read 100% of technical bulletins
- Regularly attend appropriate seminars and training sessions.
