THERAPIST SCHOOL BASED GROUP FACILITATOR

This school-based group facilitator is responsible for developing and providing programs to the Allentown School District that increase awareness of the impact of mental illness on access to education. This therapist will help participants learn signs of mental illness, treatment modalities, and access to resources.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Human Services related field highly preferred. Applicable state licensure or licensed eligible preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in Master’s level in Human Services required. Minimum of four years’ experience Bachelor’s level in Human Services.
• Experience with acute emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
• Must be 21 years of age.

Job Duties:

• Assist in the development of evidence-based programs for school staff/parents/students that increase awareness of mental health symptoms and treatment.
• Facilitate evidence-based programs in various school related setting. Coordinate with identified school contact to schedule and facilitate programming.
• Provide all required communication and follow up with participants as needed to engage in services.
• Complete all required documentation in a timely manner on KidsPeace approved forms and according to KidsPeace and regulatory standards.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time, possibly to stand/walk the entire shift.
• Must have the agility for climbing, balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, fingering, and grasping for moderate periods of time.
• Must have the ability to work with hands and arms above the head for short to moderate periods of time, possibly on a repetitive basis.
• Must be able to receive and give detailed information through verbal and written communication. Must be proficient in the English Language.
• Must have the ability to move in excess of 50 pounds through lifting and have the ability to push or pull in excess of 100 pounds.
• Work with no substantial exposure to environmental conditions but may work while subjected to environmental conditions for minimal periods of time.
• Work around socially and emotionally disturbed clients.
