Job Summary
The Food Service Manager is responsible for managing Food Service Technicians and is a part of the food service team responsible for completing a variety of duties, including food preparation, cleaning and sanitizing food service equipment and work areas, and serving.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure facility compliance with all regulating agencies which includesDivision of Child Care and EarlyChildhood Education, Division of Provider Services and Quality Assurance, and Child and Adult Food Program.
- Recruiting, training, and managing food service employees.
- Scheduling employee work hours to ensure that all shifts are adequately covered.
- Ensures patients are served qualify food in a timely manner.
- Regularly inspecting all work areas to ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations.
- Takes inventory of food supplies and other consumables, ordering necessary supplies as needed, and receiving deliveries.
- Completes the Production Record daily as required by Child and Adult Food Program.
- Submits production records and invoices monthly to designee for Child and Adult Food Program billing.
- Responsible for the appropriate handling and storage of all food and supplies; always following regulations regarding the proper techniques for food handling.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workspace at all times in the kitchen and food storage areas.
- Ensures meals are prepared following KidSPOT’s menu and Child and Adult Food Program.
- Ensures accurate meal portioning utilizing correct serving utensils.
- Responsible for temperature and sanitation checks and documentation.
- Ensures continual/ongoing dishwashing practice following sanitation expectations.
- Maintain a safe environment by following Serve-Safe standards.
- Promote teamwork on a daily basis, communicate and report problems and concerns to the Food Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalency).
- Serve-Safe Certification.
Physical Requirements
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
- Balancing, bending, crouching, kneeling, crawling, and stooping are routine.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
