Position Overview
As a CQC System Manager, you will be responsible for establishing a project quality control plan, aligning procedures and practice with company policy, regulatory controls and contractual agreements and monitoring the effectiveness of established compliance processes and controls to recommend and implement enhancements.
District Overview
Kiewit’s Northwest District is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard working individuals with a passion for construction who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty! Responsibilities
- Act as QC Manager at the work site to implement and manage the QC program.
- The only duties and responsibilities of the QC Manager are to manage and implement the QC program.
- The QC Manager is required to attend:
o QC Plan Meetings
o Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meetings
o Conduct the QC meetings, perform the three phases of control except for those phases of control designated to be performed by QC Specialists
o Perform submittal review and approval, ensure testing is performed and provide QC certifications and documentation required in this Contract.
o The QC Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the three phases of control and documentation performed by the QC Specialists
o Testing laboratory personnel and any other inspection and testing personnel required.
o The QC Manager is the manager of all QC activities.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a 4 year program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction or Building Science , with a minimum of 10 years of construction experience.
- 2 years’ experience as a QC Manager
- Has completed USACE “CQM (Construction Quality Management) for Contractors” Course.
- Must be on-site at all times during construction
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
- Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
- Must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1 1and have experience in the areas of hazard Identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
