We're currently recruiting for a Tool & Die Maker/ Welder for an Aerospace MGF company in the South Bay area.
Pay: $24 - $30 per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: M-F 5am – 4pm plus Saturdays and OT
Location: Torrance, CA
Job Type: Temp to hire
Job Summary
- Maintain inventories of shop supplies and perishable tools.
- Coordinate and participate in manufacture of tools and related projects.
- Train and organize shop personnel in safe and correct use of shop equipment.
- Maintain assigned projects within assigned priorities, shop schedules and budgets.
- Monitor time charges and adherence to shop planning and designs.
- Ensure quality of work performed.
- Welding steel & aluminum
- Metal Fabrication
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must be able to train and lead co-workers.
- Must read and interpret sheet metal blue prints and tool design drawings.
- Must read and understand shop planning.
- Knowledge of basic shop mathematics. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Basic trigonometry and algebra helpful.
Required Experience and Education
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- 5 – 8 years minimum tool and die making, master pattern, plastic tool, layout and development in aerospace environment – journeyman or equivalent education and experience
